“Healing involves a return to ourselves.”
— Bessel van der Kolk
PHILOSOPHY
My work is grounded in a trauma-informed, shame-free approach that recognizes how anxiety, burnout, trauma responses, and eating disorder symptoms develop within the context of our lives. The ways we cope are not random or broken; they are often intelligent adaptations shaped by our nervous systems, our environments, and what we’ve needed to survive. Healing begins when those responses are met with care rather than judgment.
I have the honor of supporting individuals as they navigate life transitions, stress, trauma, eating disorders, OCD, dissociative disorders, and the many challenges that come with being human. I have a special passion for working with athletes, which is a population close to my heart as a former collegiate athlete myself, along with military members, veterans, and their families. I understand how identity, performance, expectations, and lived experience shape the way we relate to ourselves and the world, and I bring that understanding into the therapy room with thoughtfulness and respect.
I view symptoms as information, not failures. Eating disorder behaviors, anxiety, trauma responses, and patterns of overcontrol often develop as ways to cope, to feel safe, or to maintain stability during difficult times. While they may no longer be serving you, they once had a purpose. I take a thoughtful approach, honoring what your symptoms have carried for you while exploring what change may look like moving forward. My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based care.
My services are LGBTQ+ inclusive, HAES-aligned, and culturally sensitive.

TRAINING + EXPERIENCES
I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. My clinical experience spans multiple levels of care, including community mental health, crisis stabilization, outpatient psychological services, and residential eating disorder treatment. These experiences have shaped my belief in meeting people where they are and honoring the resilience, complexity, and individuality of each person’s journey.
I am affiliated with the National Alliance for Eating Disorders in both advocacy and therapeutic capacities. I value continued learning, ethical practice, and staying engaged with current research as essential parts of providing effective care.

MEET ALLISON

Hi! I am so excited to meet you. Outside of the therapy space, you’ll often find me at the dog park with my dog Banjo, in a yoga class, or soaking up the Florida sunshine with friends.
MEET BANJO
Banjo is a 6 year old husky mix who enjoys long walks on the beach. His calm energy makes him a great companion for tough therapy sessions. Banjo has been known to drop in from time to time, so please let me know if you have any dog allergies, fear of dogs, or simply do not want him there!
